BIO

Lil Roj began experimenting with mixing electronic music in Southern Louisiana at the young age of 15. In 1994, at the age of 18 he broke into the nightclub scene and two years later, the New Orleans Rave scene. He was soon recognized as a rising local talent due to his well received progressive, broken, techno sets.

Early gigs included Freebass Society events at the State Palace Theatre, known as the epicenter of music, drama, and culture in the New Orleans dance music scene, as well as various mid 90’s warehouse parties throughout the region. In the years to follow Roj continued to play at events in his home state as well as at many major shows throughout the Southern US in cities such as Houston, Memphis, and along the Mississippi gulf coast.

In 2002 Roj transplanted to Portland Oregon where he has once again established himself as a top local talent. These days Roj can be found performing at warehouse parties throughout the region as well as rockin’ events at Portland’s hottest clubs.

His current sound is best described as solid-dirty-techy-funk, which can take the form of tech-house as well as breakbeats. He has also begun to make his entry in to the world of original production and is currently working on a number of soon to be released remixes and original tunes.
